Note 1: If you have the Bright White only Halo, you will need to install the LED controller unit first. Once installed:
- A) Installing single light kit – connect the 2 into 1 “Y” connector (see pic.) to the power lead from the LED controller
- B) Installing multiple light kits – connect the 4 into 1 “Y” connector (see pic.) to the power lead from the LED controller
Note 2: If you have the Multi Color Halo, the LED controller has been installed.
- A) Installing single light kit – connect the 2 into 1 “Y” connector (see pic.) to the accessory power lead
- B) Installing multiple light kits – connect the 4 into 1 “Y” connector (see pic.) to the accessory power lead
Step 1: Installing LED Controller unit:
- a) Remove Mirror, wind deflector, maintenance access panel, lower cover and top cover
- b) Route the power cable from the LED Controller unit (red and black wires) along and under the upper A-Arm, on the left side of the Spyder.
- c) Locate and disconnect the fender LED power connector from under the A-Arm cover
- d) Connect the female LED Controller connector into the male connector on the Spyder
- e) Connect the male LED Controller connector in the female connector on the Spyder
- f) Route the LED Controller module to a location under the Maintenance Access Panel
- g) Connect the black barrel connector (red and black wires) to the white barrel connect on LED controller
- h) If installing only one LED accessory, skip to Step 2.
- i) If connecting more than one LED accessory, connect the 4 into 1 “Y” connector to the LED Controller.
Step 2: Installing the under glow LEDs: The under glow LEDs are mounted in the center of the 4” x 35” flat frame piece
- a) Clean surface area with Isopropyl Alcohol.
- b) Wipe with 3M activator and allow to dry.
- c) Check fit before removing the protective tape.
- d) With the connectors facing the front of the Spyder, remove the protective tape from the back of the LEDs and mount them to the frame.
- e) Connect each LED to the 2 into 1 “Y” connector
- f) Feed the “y” connector back up through the underside of the Spyder and connect to the extension wire
- g) Connect the extension wire to the LED Controller unit or to the 4 into 1 “Y” connector at the LED controller.
Step 3: Install the saddle bag under glow LEDs: Under glow LEDs are mounted on the inside edge on the bottom of the saddle bag (black plastic)
- a) Clean surface area with Isopropyl Alcohol.
- b) Wipe with 3M activator and allow to dry.
- c) Check fit before removing the protective tape
- d) With the connectors facing the front of the Spyder, remove the protective tape from the back of the LEDs and mount them to the bottom of the saddle bag (black plastic)
- e) On the right side, connect the LED light connector into one of the 2 into 1 “Y” connector leads
- f) Feed the 2 into 1 “Y” connector to the left side.
- g) Connect the lift side LED to the 2 into 1 “Y” connector
- h) Connect the extension wire to the single wire end of the 2 into 1 “Y” connector
- i) Feed the extension wire along the gas tank and then to the frame at the front of the gas tank.
- j) Connect the extension wire to the LED Controller unit or to the 4 into 1 “Y” connector at the LED
Step 4: Installing the headlight under glow LEDs: The headlight under glow LEDs are mounted on the colored plastic panel that goes around the fog light and under the frunk lid
- a) Clean surface area with Isopropyl Alcohol.
- b) Wipe with 3M activator and allow to dry.
- c) Check fit before removing the protective tape.
- d) With the connectors facing the back of the Spyder, remove the protective tape from the back of the LEDs and mount them to the colored plastic panel.
- e) Repeat steps a) to c) for opposite side
- f) Feed the right LED connector back towards the frunk, under the maintenance access cover and behind the frunk latch.
- g) Feed the left LED connector back towards the frunk, under the maintenance access panel
- h) Connect the headlight LED under glow wires into the 2 into 1 “Y” connector.
- i) Connect the 2 into 1 “Y” connector into the 4 into 1 “Y” connector or to the LED controller.
Step 5: Installing the radiator under glow LEDs: See image below for location
- a) Open the frunk and remove both maintenance access panels.
- b) In the area where the hinge is located, there is an opening towards the front. Feed the extension cable through that opening. You will be able to see the wire through the vent openings.
- c) Grab the extension wire and connect it to the LED connector.
- d) Clean surface area with Isopropyl Alcohol.
- e) Wipe with 3M activator and allow to dry.
- f) Check fit before removing the protective tape.
- g) With the connectors facing the center the Spyder, remove the protective tape from the back of the LEDs and mount them to the black area under the leading edge.
- h) Repeat steps b) to f) for opposite side
- i) Remove the three push pins on the panel around the fog lights.
- j) You can then lift that panel enough to route the extension wire up to the area under the maintenance access panel.
- k) Feed the right LED extension wire towards the left maintenance access cover and behind the frunk latch. (It must go behind the latch to avoid being crushed when the frunk closes.)
- l) Remove the three push pins on the panel around the fog lights.
- m) You can then lift that panel enough to route the extension wire up to the area under the maintenance access panel
- n) Feed the left LED extension wire toward the maintenance access panel
- o) Connect the radiator LED under glow wires into the 2 into 1 “Y” connector.
- p) Connect the 2 into 1 “Y” connector into the 4 into 1 “Y” connector or to the LED controller.
- q) Verify LED lights work.
- r) Tidy up the wires and reassemble Spyder.
