Spyder F-3 Halo Eye

NOTE 1: If you have the Bright White only Halo, you will need to install the LED controller unit first.

  • Installing a single light kit:
    • Connect the 2 into 1 “Y” connector to the power lead from the LED controller.
  • Installing multiple light kits:
    • Connect the 4 into 1 “Y” connector to the power lead from the LED controller.

NOTE 2: If you have the Multi-Color Halo, the LED controller has been installed.

  • Installing a single light kit:
    • Connect the 2 into 1 “Y” connector to the accessory power lead.
  • Installing multiple light kits:
    • Connect the 4 into 1 “Y” connector to the accessory power lead.

Step 1. Installing LED Controller unit for years 2015-2018 proceed to “a)” For years 2019-2021 the wires are connected to the customer accessory power located next to the battery. Purple/yellow is (+) and black is ground (-). The barrel connector is then plugged into the LED control module. Proceed to Step 2.

NOTE: If LED control unit is already installed, skip to Step 2.

  • a) Remove the maintenance access panel.
  • b) Route the power cable from the LED Controller unit (red and black wires) along and under the upper A-Arm, on the left side of the Spyder.
  • c) Locate and disconnect the fender LED power connector from under the A-Arm cover
  • d) Connect the female LED controller connector into the male connector on the Spyder
  • e) Connect the male LED controller connector in the female connector on the Spyder.
  • f) Route the LED controller module to a location under the Maintenance Access Panel
  • g) Connect the black barrel connector (red and black wires) to the white barrel connect on the LED controller
  • h) If installing only one LED accessory, skip to LED Under Glow Installation for F-3
  • i) If connecting more than one LED accessory, connect the 4 into 1 “Y” connector to the LED controller

Step 2: Installing the Halo Eye strip

  • a) Open Frunk and remove the Coolant and Diagnostic Cover Panel.

(Lift up on each lower corner to release
the pin and then lift the panel off).

  • b) Using Rubbing Alcohol clean the area where the light will be going. Once the

alcohol is dry – use the provided primer on the same area.

  • c) Apply the Light strip starting on the right side of the bike (left side of your work area

as you face the front of the bike). There is a hole in the plastic lip near the hinge
area. Start the strip at that hole. I use a tiny zip tie through the hole to tighten down
the end of the strip against the lip. This will help not only hold the strip in place with the adhesive but also help frunk to close easier over the strip.

  • d) Adhere the strip down with the wire going to the left side of the bike (right side of

your work area – looking at the front of the bike). If the end of the strip doesn’t line
up with the hole on that side (Red Arrow – right of picture), you may need to drill a
new hole (White Arrow – left in picture). This is not required but helpful to keep the strip tight on the end for easier closing of the frunk lid.

  • e) Remove the 2 body pins pictured and route the wire under the edge of the panel and

up just behind the body pins out the top where your light control module is located.

Use a Y cable if necessary to plug the extension into the light control module.

  • f) Reinstall the Body Pins, Coolant and Diagnostic Cover Panel.
  • g) Close the Frunk and admire your work.
