Spyder F-3 Halo Wheelz
Note 1: If you have the Bright White only Halo, you will need to install the LED controller unit first. Once installed:
- A) Installing a single light kit – connect the 2 into 1 “Y” connector (see pic.) to the power lead from the LED controller
- B) Installing multiple light kits – connect the 4 into 1 “Y” connector (see pic.) to the power lead from the LED controller
Note 2: If you have the Multi Color Halo, the LED controller has been installed.
- A) Installing a single light kit – connect the 2 into 1 “Y” connector (see pic.) to the accessory power lead
- B) Installing multiple light kits – connect the 4 into 1 “Y” connector (see pic.) to the accessory power lead
Step 1: Installing LED Controller unit:
- a) For RT: Remove maintenance access panel
- b) For F-3: Remove maintenance access panel
- c) Route the power cable from the LED Controller unit (red and black wires) along and under the upper A-Arm, on the left side of the Spyder.
- d) Locate and disconnect the fender LED power connector from under the A-Arm cover
- e) Connect the female LED Controller connector into the male connector on the Spyder
- f) Connect the male LED Controller connector in the female connector on the Spyder
- g) Route the LED Controller module to a location under the Maintenance Access Panel
- h) Connect the black barrel connector (red and black wires) to the white barrel connect on LED controller
- i) If installing only one LED accessory, skip to Step 2.
- j) If connecting more than one LED accessory, connect the 4 into 1 “Y” connector to the LED Controller.
Step 2: Installing Halo Wheelz. The Halo wheelz are mounted to the two bolts at the upper and lower A-Arms.
- a) Remove front tire.
- b) Loosen the two 15mm bolts and nuts (arrows), ONLY REMOVE ONE BOLT AT A TIME.
- c) Pig tail wires (ends of LED lights) are on the top side of the Halo Wheelz
- d) Remove the upper bolt, Align the Halo Wheelz mounting hole with the hole you just removed the bolt from on the Spyder. Reinsert the bolt through the bolt hole on the Halo Wheelz and the Spyder and attach the nut. You may need to move the ball joint up or down slightly to get the bolt inserted. Hand tighten the nut.
- e) Remove the lower bolt, Align the Halo Wheelz mounting hole with the hole you just removed the bolt from on the Spyder. Reinsert the bolt through the bolt hole on the Halo Wheelz and the Spyder and attach the nut. You may need to move the ball joint up or down slightly to get the bolt inserted. Hand tighten the nut.
- f) Tighten the upper and lower bolts
- g) Wire-tie the pig tails to the fender support bracket. Make sure you leave enough slack so as not to interfere with the steering.
- h) Connect the 2 into 1 “Y” connector to the pig tails.
- i) Connect the extension wire to the single end of the 2 into 1 “Y” connector and feed the extension wire along the A-Arm and up to the maintenance access panel area.
- j) Connect the other end of the extension wire into another 2 into 1 “Y” connector.
- k) Repeat steps a) – i) for other side.
- l) Connect the single end of the 2 into 1 “Y” connector to the LED control module or into one of the 4 into 1 “Y” connections.
- m) Verify LED lights work.
- n) Tidy up the wires and reassemble Spyder.
